About Us

Sami encourages each patient to adapt a lifestyle most suitable towards realizing one’s greatest potential.
She maintains that the goal of healing is to have the highest quality of life while in this body. In addition to employing the ancient techniques of acupuncture and herbal medicine, Sami specializes in nutritional analysis and the sacred movements of Qi Gong, Yoga (Hatha & Kundalini styles), and meditation.
Sami has been an avid practitioner of martial arts, yoga, dance, and gymnastics, for over 25 years. She began teaching yoga and qi gong in 2000. Prior to embarking on the journey of Chinese Medicine, she wrote and helped produce animation for Hanna-Barbera and Universal Cartoons. She holds a BA in theatre from the University of Southern California, and an MS in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University, both in Los Angeles, CA.

How I got into Chinese Medicine
I grew up in the city of San Francisco, and frequently requested my mother take me to China Town. Besides the cheap trinket shops that I loved, I found the culture enriching, the food delicious, the roasted ducks in the windows intriguing, and the herb shops inviting. My school friends introduced me to Chinese candies, and my favorite time of year was not Christmas, but Chinese New Year with the firecrackers and lion dance being the highlights.
